Privacy Policy
This policy describes what information SwitchU collects through this website, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices available to you. It is written to reflect what we actually do — nothing more.
Last updated: June 12, 2026
SwitchU is operated by Switchu Solutions Inc., an independent Canadian business technology procurement firm. We help businesses evaluate and procure connectivity and technology services from third-party suppliers. This website does not offer user accounts, does not process payments, and has no mobile application. The personal information we handle is almost entirely business contact information that you choose to send us.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for commercial electronic messages, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Scope
This policy covers information we collect when you:
- Visit this website
- Submit an inquiry or procurement request through one of our forms (for example, a contact form, availability check, or quote request)
- Submit a contact-removal (suppression) request
- Email or otherwise correspond with us
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Information you provide directly
When you submit a form on this site, we collect what you enter, which may include:
- Your name and job title
- Your work email address and phone number
- Your company name and business location or service address
- Details of your inquiry — for example, the services you are evaluating, your current setup, or notes you add to a request
We do not ask for payment card information, government identification, passwords, or dates of birth, and we do not operate accounts that store a profile about you.
2.2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records limited technical information when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — in standard server logs used for security and to keep the site operating. We keep cookie use minimal; see our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit to:
- Respond to your inquiry and follow up on your procurement request
- Prepare supplier comparisons and quotes you have asked for, and advise you through the procurement process
- Send a confirmation that we received your submission
- Maintain our internal do-not-contact (suppression) list when you ask to be removed
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website
- Comply with legal obligations
3.1. Commercial electronic messages (CASL)
We send commercial electronic messages only where CASL permits — for example, where you have provided consent or where an existing business relationship applies. Every commercial message we send identifies SwitchU as the sender and includes a working way to unsubscribe. You can also request removal at any time through our contact-removal page or by emailing us; suppression requests are processed within the timeframes required by Canadian rules.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:
4.1. Service providers
Form submissions are stored and delivered using third-party service providers that supply our website hosting, database, and email delivery infrastructure. These providers process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy.
4.2. Suppliers, at your request
If you ask us to obtain quotes or availability from suppliers, we share only the details necessary for those suppliers to respond — typically your company name, service address, and service requirements. We do this as part of fulfilling the request you made.
4.3. Legal requirements
We may disclose information where required by law — for example, in response to a court order, subpoena, or lawful request from a government or regulatory authority — or where necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
4.4. Business transactions
If Switchu Solutions Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
5. International Transfers
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada. While information is in another jurisdiction, it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including any lawful access by its courts and authorities. We use providers under terms that require them to protect the information they process for us.
6. Safeguards and Retention
We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including access controls and transmission over encrypted connections. We retain inquiry information for as long as needed to handle your request, maintain our business records, and meet legal requirements. Suppression-list entries are retained so that your removal request stays in effect.
7. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
- Ask questions about, or challenge, our handling of your information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Children
Our services are directed at businesses. This website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
When we make material changes to this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. That date changes only when the text of this policy changes.
